As we all know, the Mark Gordon Company is currently adapting The Silver Chair as the fourth Narnia movie. However, someone that was a major part of the first Narnia film, with minor appearances in both of the sequels, wants back in.
During an AMA (ask me anything) on Reddit, Swinton was asked if she would reprise her role in any sequels. She answered:
I have always hoped that there would be the chance to make THE MAGICIAN’S NEPHEW.. the prequel to THE LION THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE – such a fantastic story.. the creation of Narnia and the Witch driving a coach and four horses around Victorian London at breakneck speed.. but no word as yet.. let’s cross our fingers..
Count us among those that want to see that happen sooner rather than later. I’m hopeful that this doesn’t lead to her playing the role of the Lady of the Green Kirtle in The Silver Chair, but who knows.

I’ve been waiting to purchase “The Silver Chair” for some time now. What is the hold-up? Love to see Tilda in both movie productions. So when will “The Silver Chair” and “The Magician’s Nephew” become reality? My DVD collection is lonely for the prequel and follow-up movies. I pray our Lord continues to bless this ministry of film that He has given you. May the need for love ALWAYS be owed. The hold up is a choice to use someone other than Walden Media for the next film. In any contracts, there are safety nets built in that protect those involved, and this is definitely one of those times.
I read the cronicles of Narnia as a child. I loved the Narnia series and would love to see any other movies from any of the books. However, I would particularly like to see , “The Magician’s Nephew”.
You know I have once been very paranoid at the White Witch’s return in the last two films. After hearing the radio theater versions of the tales, her return in both films were very reasonable. The attention she was getting for the two as if she was a major character was unwarranted. Nevertheless, I do look forward to seeing her return in Magician’s Nephew. I also do hope she doesn’t reappear in Silver Chair.
Her cameo in “Prince Caspian” was a very slight extrapolation from CS Lewis’ book, and worked very well. She’s a great actress and I’d love to see her back for “Magician’s Nephew”. But I think that the VDT appearance was overdoing it and I agree that she shouldn’t be in Silver Chair.
I would not like to see Tilda reappear in Silver Chair, as even her appearances in Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader were a stretch in my opinion. But if they ever do Magician’s Nephew I would hope that Tilda would be able to play Jadis. She is a good actress!
