APRIL FOOLS! BREAKING NEWS: Bluey’s Narnia Adventure Coming Soon from the BBC and Ludo Studios! APRIL FOOLS!

One of the best shows for children and families, Bluey, is gearing up for an exciting new special. The BBC, together with Ludo studios  is producing a brand-new hour long special “Bluey’s Narnia Adventure.”

“Bluey is all about the wonder of imagination, the joy of childhood, the fun of imaginative play, and learning “valuable lime lessons” says Tim Fussell, CEO of the BBC Studios“We have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the equally imaginative world of Narnia since the 1980s with the mini-series, and these two properties just feel like the perfect fit as they  reflect on such weighty topics as pain, loss, growing up. Really, it’s a match made in Heaven for fans of both Bluey and Narnia.

The special sees the energetic Blue Heeler, Bluey, discover a book at school called Narnia. Falling in love with the story and gathering her sister, Bingo, together with their friends McKensie and Lucky they explore Narnia on their own. Along the way they meet Mr. Snickers the faun, Lucky’s dad the Marshwiggle, Rusty the Fox, Winston the Centaur, Chloe the cheetah, and Judo the Peacock. Other friends including Coco and Lila get into the fun while Mrs. Beaver, played by Mum, tries to help the kids keep the game under control.  But lurking around the corner are Muffin Cupcake Heeler and her sister, Socks, as the White Witch and her dwarf. Can Bluey and friends help free this magical world? Will Muffin play by the rules for once? And why is Bandit running around in a Lion Onesie?

“This doesn’t concern you, Wendy. Move along. ”

Bluey’s Narnia Adventure is slated to be the first in a series of an all new specials spinning off of the beloved series, tentatively titled Bluey’s Classic Theater. Should it get picked up to series the hope is to do other retellings of works of classic children’s literature.

This special sounds like an absolute delight and I for one can’t wait to see it. If you haven’t seen Bluey  before I highly recommend checking it out. The episodes are short but they are funny, heartwarming and intelligent all the same time. The writing is always top notch, and animation is warm and charming. The kids are actually adorable and endearing, and best of all, the adults on the show all feel like real, fleshed out characters, not plot coupons or props to react  (or no react) to their children’s shenanigans. If it’s anything like such great episodes as “Sleepytime”, “Copycat”, “Onesies,”  or ‘The Sign” then we are in for a special treat.

Look for the special coming this Holiday season!

In he mean time, check out this picture of Bandit in the lion Onesie!
