On December 2005, the first Narnia film was released in theaters worldwide under Walt Disney studios and Walden Media. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was well received by new audiences, fan of the books as well as critics. It was one of the top grossing films of 2005 that went against Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as well as Star Wars episode 3 Revenge of the Sith. As it was a worldwide box office and critical success, Disney followed it up with a dark toned sequel Prince Caspian and 5 years after, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was released which was the third and final Narnia film to date.
As it was the 20th anniversary of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, fans around the world reminisce good memories that the film has brought. It is after all one of the most known and watched films during Christmas. In the present, the film is still appreciated and considered as one of the best book to film adaptions with amazing CGI, story-telling, ensemble cast and the amazing soundtrack which was composed by Harry Gregson-Williams. The battle score and sequence alone is well received by fans and movie lovers wherein some consider it as one of the best battle music and medieval battle sequences in the big screen. Here’s a clip (edited) in 4K 60fps that shows the epic battle of the first film.
TRAILER TRIBUTE
More to that, the film continues to be loved by new audiences nowadays while some are considering it as a “what if” film franchise that could have went toe to toe against Harry Potter in the early 2000s until 2010s.
