Geoffrey Burgon for gave Narniaweb the opportunity to ask him some questions about his Narnia scores. Burgon wrote the music for the BBC productions of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian/The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and The Silver Chair.

This was in Austin, Texas at the Alamo Drafthouse for the second day of Fantastic Fest, at a presentation on special effects in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

The upcoming movie adaptation of CS Lewis’s book, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, is expected to set a new precedent. Far from sitting back and watching, publisher HarperCollins is working closely with filmmaker Walden Media, unleashing a massive, worldwide marketing drive for the books, timed to coincide with the film – and not only for The Chronicles of Narnia, but most of Lewis’s other books as well

Silva Screen Records has announced the release dates of “The Chronicles of Narnia: Music from the BBC Television Series” by composer Geoffrey Burgon. It is released in the UK and other territories on October 10th, and in the US on November 8th. **SPOILERS**

Right now, the heat is really on Flaherty and Walden, the film studio producing The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, releasing December 9. Walden partnered with Disney to market and distribute the film, but Walden retained all creative control. So, if you like the movie, you can thank Walden. If you don’t like it, you’ll know exactly where to lay the blame.

From October 6-9, the Fantastic Fest will present behind-the-scenes peeks at the making of Richard Linklater’s A SCANNER DARKLY and Andrew Adamson’s THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDOBE. The stage has been set for the World Premiere of Walt Disney Pictures/Walden Media’s “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe,” one of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year. On December 7, in the presence of TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, this extraordinary event film will transform Royal Albert Hall and Kensington Garden in to Narnia’s 100 year winter.

On November 8th, Geoffrey Burgon’s score for the BBC’s Chronicles of Narnia series will be released by Silva America.
