The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Wait, you start shooting in five days? I’ve only heard about two confirmed cast members. There must be more people onboard now besides Tilda Swinton and James McAvoy.
I’m not talking (laughing). No, do you know what it is? It stars four young unknown British kids so I could give you their names but they won’t mean anything to you.

Who James Cosmo is playing is the question of the hour, the rest of the cast aside. The Chicago Sun-Times dispells the old Nicole Kidman rumor for those still not in the know, and what about the rest of the Chronicles?

Cosmo, who is going to New Zealand next month to star in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, said that Scottish film-making was doing fantastically well.

Up to 1000 people are expected to converge on Flock Hill Station near Arthurs Pass this spring to film the climactic battle scene from C. S. Lewis’s The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

Andrew Adamson, the director of “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” spoke with the New Zealand Herald about the film, and filmmaking in general. They plan to stay true to the spirit of the book, rather than the book itself. Sounds a lot like how the Lord of the Rings was filmed to me.

The couple advertised horses for sale in a horse trading publication. A woman called and told them she had looked everywhere for a white horse, about 15 hands high, for a role in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, soon to be filmed in New Zealand… …Ms Sudbury was told George would play the part of the unicorn and she understands he will be ridden by the wicked witch in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

We’ve gotten ahold of a few more banners from the New York Licensing Show! They feature production art of The White Witch, her castle, Aslan, a Unicorn, a boy, possibly Edmund or Peter, a Narnian Army, and another Narnian that goes unnamed. This is a very exciting time.

They begin filming on 28 June, with about 2/3 of the production based
in Auckland. Then head to the South Island around mid-October to
complete filming. The movie opens in the States in December, 2005,
with many international territories also opening day-and-date.
