Away in a Rowboat
Style: to the tune of “Away in a Manger”
Poem: Away in a rowboat
no crib for a bed
the little boy Shasta
lay down his sweet head
the stars in the sky
wink down where he lay;
the little boy Shasta
asleep by the bay.
The knight is a’rowing,
the baby awakes,
but little boy Shasta
no cry will he make
the Lion loves thee,
boy Shasta,
’tis your destiny
to save all Narnia
from misery.

What I See
Poem: I don’t see a book, letters,
words, or pages,
I see kings and queens
and golden ages
evil kings that rule the land
and four children dashing
across beach’s sand
a king off a-sailing
going to unknown lands,
a good Narnian prince
taken by unknown hands,
two rings, two colors,
and two apiece,
the Magician’s Nephew,
not a cousin, or a niece
A world in peril, needing Aslan,
a Southeastern place, and the
city of Tashbaan
A stable door, and an old, gray ape,
a unicorn and a king, in circlet and
cape
A key to lock the stable door.
The adventures through there shall be
many, many more.
So now you may know what I mean when I say:
“I don’t see words or letters made by writing tools,
I say, what do they teach in these schools?”

It was a Dark, Cold Stormy Night…
Style: Ok, this is a [poem] about Cor’s mother-I don’t remember if she died or what happened, but in this story, she dies during childbirth and sings a little lullaby to her newborn son on the brink of death, knowing what shall happen to her son. This might be a little off the story.
Poem: My seatide, be wary
of the parcel you carry
tonight, of all nights, in this storm.
Be calm in the thunder
be bliss in the rain,
and give my poor baby no pain.
My baby, my baby,
oh please, don’t you cry
as I sing you a last lullaby
But whatever is your destiny,
please remember me.
and as the soldiers are coming this way
it is time to send you away.
Farewell, my child.
And with that, the poor queen handed off her son and with her final breath laid her head down.
