This page covers Rescue Edmund in the console and PC version of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
Rescue Edmund is really two different challenges welded together: a control-heavy duel with Ginarrbrik, then an environmental-answer fight where the game clearly wants you to stop swinging wildly and start using the room.
Before you push forward
- Block in the duel. The opening fight rewards patience much more than aggression.
- Use the barrels on the cyclops. The room already tells you the answer. Trust it.
Route and objective breakdown
- In the Ginarrbrik duel, push him into the tree, pin him, and only cash in damage while he is truly vulnerable.
- If he jumps into the tree and starts throwing knives, block the pressure first and wait for the next real opening instead of chasing him under fire.
- When the level shifts into the cyclops phase, stop treating the enemy like a normal bruiser. Light the barrels and shove or roll them into the target.
- Use Edmund with purpose during the environmental phase. He is the character the room is built around.
Common stuck points
- Ginarrbrik keeps slipping away? Slow down and wait for the correct control window instead of spamming attacks.
- Cyclops taking forever? You are supposed to use the lit barrels, not grind the health bar the slow way.
Completion and cleanup notes
Rescue Edmund is one of the clearest “read the encounter” stages in the whole game. Once you understand that the duel is about control and the second half is about the environment, the level becomes much cleaner and much faster.
Bonus tip
This is a good chapter to remember that the console game often looks like an action brawler but actually solves like a puzzle game wearing a sword belt.
