The movie is lovely and well done, remaining true to the book as C.S. Lewis wrote it. The make-up and specially effects were tasteful and believable. I especially enjoyed the movie because I had recently taken the "CS Lewis Tours" in Oxford, England (conducted by Ronald Brind who was a childhood friend of Douglas Gresham, step son to C.S. Lewis), and was full of residual excitement. I could just picture C.S. Lewis walking the streets of Oxford while mentally engaged in the creation of his Narnian characters. If anyone has the opportunity to take this wonderful tour before the release of the second Narnian film, I would highly recommend it. Alternatively (or in addition to) they can check out the companion book to the tour called "A Guide to the C. S. Lewis Tour in Oxford" by Ronald Brind, and they will get an up close and personal feel for Lewis the man.
