New Narnia logo unveiled on set

It has come to light recently that the new Narnia logo for Netflix’ The Magician’s Nephew has been unveiled. Or so we thought? The new logo appears to be a simpler version than what we have for the previous Narnia films.

From a source on set earlier this year at Cardington Studios, a photo surfaced that a new logo for Netflix’ Narnia film is revealed. As mentioned, the logo is different from the Narnia films which was used since The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe film was released. Comparing to the BBC and Walden logos, the new design is much simpler and the words “The Chronicles of” is absent.

While this is something new to us, it is yet to be announced if this would be the official new logo for the upcoming film. However, this leaked image may still offer a sense of direction as to what the official logo design will look like.

Logos below are from BBC, Narnia band logo (which appears to be the closest to the leaked design) and an edited version The Magician’s Nephew using the Walden-era Narnia logos.

Note from Paul: I’ve been anticipating the day we would get to see what the new Narnia logo looks like. And if it looks like this reveal, I’m good with it. If you’re wondering why they are changing the logo for the new film(s), it’s because it has a new production team and distributor, and it’s a new series that is not connected to the other Narnia movies in any way, other than being adapted from the same books.

There are many examples of things like this… look at the logos for Spider-Man… the Raimi trilogy, The Amazing Spider-Man, and the Tom Holland Spider-Man films, for example. And those are all Sony Pictures. It helps the casual viewer to recognize the difference. That way you don’t accidentally go from, say, Batman Begins to Tim Burton’s Batman, or Batman Returns, and think they’re the same Batman.
