This page covers The Spare Room in the console and PC version of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

The Spare Room is a short exploration chapter, but it is still important because it teaches a habit that the game uses again and again later: do not assume a room is “just scenery” until you have checked the obvious interactable objects.

Before you push forward

  • Search before advancing. This level can lock you out of easy pickups if you rush the chase beats.
  • Treat furniture as puzzle pieces. Moving and checking objects matters more here than combat.

Route and objective breakdown

  • Sweep the opening room cleanly instead of chasing the first obvious objective the moment it appears.
  • Move tables and other furniture where the level clearly wants a path or a hiding space to open.
  • Follow the hidden-door trail carefully after Lucy bolts from under the table instead of assuming the next room will announce itself loudly.
  • Use the quiet rooms to collect anything that looks missable before the route shifts forward again.

Common stuck points

  • Can’t find the next step? Re-check the room for movable furniture or a hidden route instead of leaving it immediately.
  • Missed items? This is exactly the kind of level where a too-fast first run leaves cleanup behind.

Completion and cleanup notes

The Spare Room is not mechanically hard, but it is one of the easiest places to prove to yourself that the console game likes slow observation. If you want a cleaner replay, just give every room one full extra scan before you leave it.

Bonus tip

This chapter reads much better when you treat it like a house puzzle and not like the game is desperate to get you back into combat.
