Overview: The country at the heart of The Chronicles of Narnia, created by Aslan and shaped by centuries of kings, queens, wars, and wonders.
Place in the books
Narnia is the center of the series. It is where Aslan sings the world into being, where the Pevensies rule from Cair Paravel, where Caspian fights to win back the old country, and where Jill and Eustace are sent when help is needed. Even when the story wanders into Calormen, Charn, or the Eastern Sea, Narnia is still the point of reference.
That is part of why the country feels larger than any one map. Lewis lets it change from book to book. Sometimes it is a place of talking animals and warm hospitality. Sometimes it feels battered, strange, or close to the end. The series keeps returning to it because Narnia is both a kingdom and a home.
