Background

Beavers are some of the warmest and most practical Talking Beasts in the Chronicles. They are builders, householders, and loyal friends who offer food, shelter, and common sense when human children stumble into danger.

How the race functions in Narnia

Beavers help make Narnia feel livable rather than abstractly magical. Their homes, meals, and matter-of-fact courage give the stories a domestic center. When they stand with Aslan, they do so as ordinary good creatures protecting what is worth loving.
