Tran

Book portrayal

Tran is a minor Archenland figure in The Horse and His Boy, named among the men surrounding King Lune. He does not receive much direct development, but his presence helps flesh out the network of loyal supporters who stand behind Archenland’s king in a time of danger.

Lewis uses names like Tran economically. Rather than stopping for full biographies, he plants enough detail to suggest a living society with relationships, rank, and memory. Tran is part of that effect.

Legacy in Narnia

Tran is not a major character, but he contributes to the grounded human texture of Archenland and to the sense that the kingdom is supported by more than its central royal figures.
