Duffle is one of the red dwarf brothers in The Horse and His Boy and the one most directly remembered for assisting Shasta. That small note is enough to give him a clearer role than some other brief supporting names.
Like Bricklethumb and Rogin, Duffle helps show that the resistance to Calormene aggression is not carried only by princes and talking horses. The northern world has its own smaller helpers, and Duffle is one of them.
