Book portrayal

Swanwhite is remembered in The Last Battle as a queen from the long-ago age before the Hundred Years of Winter. Her beauty is said to have been so radiant that pools used as her mirror kept reflecting her face for a year and a day.

She matters less as an active character than as a piece of Narnian memory. Lewis uses names like Swanwhite to suggest a deep, half-legendary past behind the current story, one full of beauty that later ages only partly remember.
