Book portrayal
Tirian stands at the center of The Last Battle as Narnia’s final king. He is brave, devout, and fiercely protective of his people, though Lewis also shows that he can be rash. His first response to evil is often immediate action, and that mixture of nobility and impulsiveness gives him a very human kind of greatness.
His role in the book is heavy and tragic. Tirian must watch Narnia unravel under deception, cowardice, and spiritual confusion. Yet he does not surrender. Even when tied, mocked, and outnumbered, he keeps turning back toward Aslan and toward the truth. That stubborn faithfulness is what defines him.
Legacy in Narnia
Tirian is one of the most important late-series characters. As the last king, he carries the sorrow and dignity of a world nearing its end, and he helps give the final book much of its emotional weight.
