The Seven Brothers of Shuddering Wood are red dwarfs in Prince Caspian who live among the rocks and fir trees on the southern mountains. Once they accept Caspian’s rightful claim, they support him with gifts of finely made armor.
That small episode does useful work in the story. It shows Caspian’s kingship being recognized step by step by different peoples of old Narnia, not simply announced in the abstract. The brothers help ground that loyalty in craftsmanship and earned allegiance.
