Hogglestock is one of the smaller old Narnian creatures named in Prince Caspian. He does not carry a major subplot, but he still helps round out the company gathering around Caspian and the returning Narnian cause.
Figures like Hogglestock are part of what makes the book’s world feel dense and inhabited. Narnia is not restored only by its most famous creatures. Even the humble hedgehogs have a place in it.
