Book portrayal

The hag in Prince Caspian belongs to the dark counsel gathered around Nikabrik when he proposes calling up powers outside Aslan’s rule. She matters less as an individual biography than as part of the atmosphere of temptation surrounding that scene.

Lewis uses figures like the hag to show how badly the resistance could go wrong if it tried to win by reaching for older darkness instead of trusting Aslan. She helps make that fork in the road feel dangerous and ugly.
