Book portrayal

Uvilas is another of the great Telmarine lords destroyed during Miraz’s rise to power in Prince Caspian. He is remembered as one of the men whose existence posed a threat simply because he belonged to the old order and might have stood by the lawful line.

Lewis says Uvilas and Belisar are killed by arrows during a hunting party arranged by Miraz. The supposed accident fools no one. It shows the same pattern seen elsewhere in the book: Miraz removes rivals through staged treachery rather than open justice.

Uvilas never becomes a major on-page personality, but his death gives weight to Caspian’s inheritance. By the time the young prince begins to understand who he is, many of the older men who might have protected him are already gone. Uvilas is part of that missing generation.
