Book portrayal

Susan is the most outwardly poised of the Pevensies, known for courtesy, steadiness, and a practical turn of mind that serves the family well in danger. In The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, she begins as the sibling least ready to believe Lucy, yet once she enters Narnia she becomes one of its most dependable queens.

Lewis gives Susan a particular kind of strength. She is an archer, a protector, and the keeper of the horn that later calls the Pevensies back in Prince Caspian. In The Horse and His Boy, she appears in her adult Narnian reign as a queen admired for beauty and dignity, though the book also shows how dangerous that beauty can become in the politics of Calormen.

Adaptation portrayals

Adaptations often emphasize Susan’s maturity, caution, and romantic tension more than the books do. The Lewis version feels a little quieter and more queenly.
