Bricklethumb is one of the three red dwarf brothers in The Horse and His Boy, together with Duffle and Rogin. These characters are brief, but they help fill out the northern world through which Shasta travels as the danger from Calormen grows clearer.
Bricklethumb’s main value on the page is as part of that brotherly trio. Lewis gives even small helpers enough individuality in naming to keep the story from feeling thinly populated.
